Flat Roof Replacement Los Angeles
A successful flat roof replacement starts with proper preparation. We first evaluate the existing roofing system, identify damaged areas, and determine what work is needed before installing the new roof.
For this project, the existing plywood decking had deteriorated and required complete replacement. After removing the old roofing materials and damaged decking, we prepared the roof for the required sheathing inspection.
Once the roof deck was ready, we installed the new Polyglass roofing system according to the applicable installation requirements.

Flat Roof Drainage and Ponding Water
Because flat roofs have a minimal slope, water can remain on the roof longer than it does on a sloped roofing system.
If water does not drain properly, it can contribute to ponding water, leaks, premature deterioration, and damage to roofing materials.
For this reason, proper water management is an important part of a flat roofing system. We pay attention to drainage, roof penetrations, flashing, and other areas that can affect roof performance.
Common Challenges
One of the main challenges with this project was the poor condition of the existing flat roof.
After removing the old roofing materials, we discovered that the existing plywood decking had deteriorated over time and sections of the wood were rotten, requiring a complete replacement of the roof decking.

Our Mission With Every Flat Roofing Project
Our mission is to protect your property.
Every project begins with a thorough evaluation of the existing roof to identify drainage issues, damaged materials, moisture intrusion, and other conditions that may affect the roofing system.
Because water management is one of the most important factors in flat roofing, we pay close attention to drainage, roof penetrations, flashing details, ventilation, and the overall condition of the roof deck. Addressing these factors early helps reduce the risk of future leaks and premature roof deterioration.
At Modern Solution Roofing, we focus on quality workmanship, transparent communication, and proven installation techniques to deliver flat roofing solutions that provide reliable protection for residential and commercial properties throughout Santa Clarita and Los Angeles County.
